Along the way

“If it could be put into words, there would be no reason to paint.” Edward Hopper

Sometimes it is so difficult to look at your own work, to find the words that can replace the images or just talk about it in all simplicity. Edward Hopper's phrase often resonates with me... but the words complement many works wonderfully. I have long written a few lines to accompany the presentation of my works, both to provide context and both to describe my initial emotion. I had the chance to meet Andréas ALBERTI some time ago, whose work I particularly appreciated in portraiture on an artist I didn't know.

Abandonment

The visit had been canceled and was now scheduled for late afternoon. Meanwhile a violent storm had shaken the surrounding area. The central path of the garden presented a certain disorder like the beginning of abandoned abandonment and in the corner of the greenhouse a few buckets abandoned at the foot of a basil bore witness to gardening activity and were the delight of a snail which was tracing its path. path on the…

Portrait of an artist

“Art is what makes life more interesting than art. » Robert Filliou

Art is not an end in itself. It is an engine of life, a catalyst of emotions and a wonderful means of expression. Alain Rouschmeyer's message is clear. These paintings are slices of life, gourmet approaches to everyday life that he manages to “crunch” with relish. Genre scenes, life scenes, landscapes, nudes, the artist does not close any doors. Technical mastery, rendering of materials, precision of line and the search for an aesthetic of bodies, shapes and colors is at the heart of his artistic approach. Rigor and sharp perception are abilities developed in particular by his initial training as an architect. The artist's talent is also expressed by his ability to tell us...

Eleven eleven

Eleven o'clock eleven... 11+11... the trouble of a mirror hour. You've probably already experienced that strange moment when you look at the clock and discover a mirror hour. In the same register 10:22 p.m., 4:44 a.m., 5:55 a.m.… Depending on the clock, if it is digital, we have the sensation of being in front of a casino slot machine and have obtained a winning combination. When you do research on this subject, the explanations are diverse and varied, ranging from coded communication from angels to the most contradictory numerology depending on the site that will try to explain its meaning to you.

However, the subject remains troubling, because I have already experienced a succession of these mirror hours in a very short time, going from 10:22 p.m. to 3:33 a.m. then 5:55 a.m. and 4:16 p.m. For some it's a coincidence without...
