“Beauty mark”: a swimming ritual

Today, I would like to share with you one of my works that is particularly close to my heart: “Grain de Beauté” . By creating this painting, I wanted to capture a moment of tranquility and contemplation, by choosing a high angle view of my wife sitting on the edge of Lake Annecy and about to jump into the water for her moment swimming favorite. “Great beauty”: a swimming ritual.

I have known this procedure for many years and I still take great pleasure in contemplating its ritual. Very often, I make a quick sketch of his preliminary postures. This is also the case for the work “Backless” that I painted after this one, moving slightly to the right.

This work is an acrylic work protected by a satin anti-UV varnish on a format of 70 x 50 cm. The work is ready to hang and comes with a certificate of authenticity and an international certificate of deposit.

detailed description

In this work, I represented my wife seen from behind, handling her swimming goggles. His posture, both relaxed and concentrated, evokes a moment of preparation before diving into the water. I chose this high-angle perspective to offer an intimate and close-up view, inviting the viewer to share this personal moment of conviviality.

Use of colors

The dominant colors are shades of green for the water and background, as well as natural tones for the skin. Variations of green create a serene, natural ambiance, while shadows add depth and dimension to the scene. I paid particular attention to the details of the skin and muscles, playing with lights and shadows to bring the subject and their posture to life

Texture elements and details

The ground at the bottom of the painting is rich in detail, with geometric patterns and touches of vegetation; it is the particular paving of this access to the water. These elements add texture and life to the entire composition, creating an interesting contrast with the softness of the water and skin.

General atmosphere and interpretation

With “ Grain de Beauté ”, I wanted to celebrate the simple and intimate moments of everyday life. The title suggests a reflection on the small details and subtle aspects that make up the beauty of our experiences. Through this work, I hope to remind people of the importance of savoring and appreciating these precious moments.

Conclusion

By combining technique, texture and composition, I sought to create a scene that was both realistic and poetic. The unique perspective and play of colors aim to provide a rich and immersive visual experience, inviting the viewer into a contemplative pause. I hope that “ Grain de Beauté ” will touch you as much as I did when it was created and that it will inspire you as much as it inspired me in making it.

Alain Rouschmeyer

Alain Rouschmeyer is best known for his acrylic paintings on medium format canvas and his contemporary ink drawings. An observer of everyday life, he analyzes the human walk through the postures and spaces crossed, as if to probe the banal and capture its scent. His artistic itinerary invites him to work on architecture in which he likes to reflect on living spaces and the transversalities that define their uses. Like a poet-analyst, Alain Rouschmeyer's work navigates between reality and intimacy revealing attachment and detachment according to a conscious will. It explores the hidden dimension of everyday life which never ceases to challenge us like jazz music or warm blues. The romanticism of which he fully assumes the contemporary and timeless translation inhabits the support as an involved space.
