"Rainy day"
Rainy Day - A Dive into the Serenity of Nature
Today I would like to share with you one of my recent works entitled “ Rainy Day ” . This painting captures a moment of tranquility and reflection, a scene that resonates deeply with my love for nature and the calming solitude it can offer.
Made from a preliminary sketch made on the shore under the shelter of a bus stop. It is an acrylic work protected by anti-UV varnish on a 100 x 70 cm linen canvas and it is delivered with a certificate of authenticity and an international deposit certificate. It is also offered framed with an American box in light wood, thus allowing the full perception of the composition of this work. (See photo at bottom of page)
Composition and Technique of an almost monochrome work
“Rainy Day” presents a solitary fisherman in a boat, named “La Savoyarde”. Under a gentle rain, he is protected by a green parasol, adding a touch of intimacy to the scene. The dominant colors are shades of gray and green, creating a serene and slightly melancholic atmosphere. The concentric circles formed by the raindrops on the water add to this feeling of calm and continuity.
Details and Thoughts
I took care to capture the reflection of the boat and the fisherman on the water, adding a dimension of depth and realism to the composition. Light and shadow play a crucial role in this work, emphasizing the tranquility and patience of the fisherman in the face of natural elements.
Themes and Interpretations
For me, this work symbolizes voluntary solitude and personal reflection. The fishing scene, often associated with patience and contemplation, here becomes a metaphor for introspection. The fisherman, despite the rain, remains focused and serene, illustrating harmony with nature and resilience in the face of environmental challenges.
Inspiration and Style
My artistic style is characterized by careful attention to detail and an ability to evoke emotions through everyday scenes. “Rainy Day” is no exception. This painting invites the viewer to share an intimate moment with the fisherman, to feel the gentleness of the rain and the serenity of the moment.
Conclusion
“Rainy Day” is an invitation to contemplation and tranquility. It reflects not only my technical skills, but also my ability to transform a simple scene into a deep emotional experience. I hope this work will touch you as much as it touched me when it was created.
