Les Grolles series ...

"Way, the Grolles": a series of acrylic paintings in 40 x 40 where the shoes, these faithful companions of bitumen and trails, pose. In the slang, they are called the "Grolles", these worn pumps that lug their share of stories, from the pebble of the aisles to the shiny paving stones of the alleys. Here, they offer themselves in a dead kind, frozen on the web like melancholy trophies, full of scratches and memories. Each fold, each laceration recounts a route, a space crossed-from wet undergrowth to urban arteries. Through these leather and soles portraits, the memory of the steps is expressed, an echo of swallowed kilometers, strolled roads, like a discreet tribute to those that carry us, a path.
