When art goes to the mountains…

Well yes, at the end of 2023, a small part of my works is going to the mountains for a few days. This will be the second edition of ART- CHAMPERY in Switzerland. A selection of 20 artists has been selected for this 2023 edition and on the theme “the genius of the Mountain”.

Very honored to be included in this selection, I really appreciated the initial philosophy of this event. Indeed, a collective exhibition is organized within this village for a period of 4 days and which ends with an auction. The conditions required to access this event as an artist are simple and respectful. Furthermore, the objective of the auction is to be able to raise funds for a local cultural association. The artist participates up to 10% of the amount of the work sold. No additional costs are requested from the artist, the only costs incurred include those related to travel, shipping, and accommodation if necessary.

The auction is carried out at the end of the exhibition and is registered with the Drouot auction house in Paris. It is also possible to register in advance as places are limited.

The selection of artists selected for this 2023 edition is visible online with an individual link to each artist and thus allows you to discover the work of each.

The theme “The Genius of the Mountain” obviously calls largely on figurative art. My posture and artistic approach allowed me to select a choice with regard to this theme where the mountain appears in the background. My artistic work resonates with humans, their posture, their attachment to a place through a composition that takes into account the support and the format.

The four figurative works selected are “ JOUR DE PLUIE ” (2021), “ LE TORRENT ” (2022), “ REVE D’ALTITUDE ” (2023) and “ SUR LE PIOLET ” (2023)

I present to you in more detail the four figurative works that will be present at this event:

Description :

At this early hour, there seemed to be only one being on the lake, this peaceful fisherman in his white boat, like a deep and sweet note of the chord composed at the beginning of a rainy day, with its sky. and its circles in the water...A painting in monochrome colors which takes up the deep green of the lake. The fisherman also took on the colors specific to this space. This acrylic work presents the concentrated posture of a fisherman sitting on his boat in the middle of a lake in rainy weather.

THE TORRENT - 2022

Description :

The painting represents a young woman sitting on the edge of a mountain stream and who has taken a place on surrounding rocks to cool her feet. We can see her in profile with a serene gaze focused on the imaginary and distant landscape. His outfit consisting of black leather pants with reinforcements indicates that his means of transport is the motorcycle. Two white butterflies go up the stream which brings a particular brightness. The work done in acrylic is reinforced by work with black stone and charcoal on the stonework part.

DREAM OF ALTITUDE - 2023

Unframed

Description :

“Dream of altitude” is an artistic canvas in 50 x 50 format which transports the viewer into a scene of great poetry. This composition made in acrylic with a spirit of sketches and black lines evokes the tranquility of a woman sitting in the alcove of a window offering a majestic view of high mountains and a peaceful village.

ON THE ICE ICE - 2023

acrylic and black stone on canvas 50 x 50 - anti UV varnish - painted edges - ready to hang

delivered with certificate of authenticity and international deposit certificate

Unframed

Description :

His head was full of images, his body a little tired and weighed down by its size, but now he was poeticizing his next expedition. Thoughtful, he had analyzed the route as well as his equipment and only he lacked the breath of new energy to set off again to attack these mineral monsters. His huddled posture, one hand on the ice axe, had transformed in the time of a flap of wings into a welcome break for a mountain butterfly passing by.

Please support this initiative by coming to visit the exhibition which will take place from December 26 to 30, 2023 or by registering for the auction on December 30, 2023 at the following link: auction registration .

IN CONCLUSION

This event posture deserves to experience a certain growth because it contributes to meaningful development and in particular great respect for the work of artists. I would also like to thank all the organizers and volunteers who contribute to the success of this event.

Looking forward to see you there.

Alain Rouschmeyer

Alain Rouschmeyer is best known for his acrylic paintings on medium format canvas and his contemporary ink drawings. An observer of everyday life, he analyzes the human walk through the postures and spaces crossed, as if to probe the banal and capture its scent. His artistic itinerary invites him to work on architecture in which he likes to reflect on living spaces and the transversalities that define their uses. Like a poet-analyst, Alain Rouschmeyer's work navigates between reality and intimacy revealing attachment and detachment according to a conscious will. It explores the hidden dimension of everyday life which never ceases to challenge us like jazz music or warm blues. The romanticism of which he fully assumes the contemporary and timeless translation inhabits the support as an involved space.
