The week had been busy and the start of the weekend then became a privileged time to indulge in some deserved rest. In a posture of abandonment, the young woman slept in a blue and white adornment decorated with ethnic motifs, revealing a soft and peaceful sensuality. The artist gracefully captured this special moment, in a palette of colors evoking the morning sun caressing his beloved, the naked girl in her bed.

She is Camille, he is the lake with its mineral decor revealing the stones at the bottom and the small poles which were disturbed by the arrival of the swimmer. A scene that I like to observe every summer season with this very particular ritual, in a somewhat perilous access which differs from one period to another by the level of the water. This is how, standing on the bank, I drew every detail of this choreography and worked on the preliminary sketch which allowed me to create the acrylic work on canvas measuring 120 by 120 entitled “The girl at the edge of the lake” . It was one of those long weekends that leave the possibility of getting away from it all and discovering unusual places. She had chosen a small hotel in Avignon, nicely restored in the heart of the city. It was with unadulterated pleasure that she discovered the bathroom with its soft-lined bathtub, which she promised herself to inaugurate the next morning. And so at daybreak she sat down in this welcoming shell for her morning shower, which she prolonged longer than usual, full of her joy at feeling like she was on vacation.
